Among Giles' cartoon books, Giles Annuals are the most sought after by collectors.

These annual compilations, produced from 1947 onwards, contain cartoons from the previous year selected by Giles himself.

Even though new cartoons and annuals ceased to appear in 1991, from time to time Giles facsimile annuals are produced and collectors use them to fill a gap when they do not have the original from a certain year.

Carl Giles' cartoons may be seen as a fun way to read about British history.
